TELEVISION

CBC Canada’s national public broadcaster. A great source for news entertainment sports and especially culture. This site has an excellent archive and teacher’s resource section.

CTV CTV is well known for its Canadian content programming, and has one of Canada’s strongest compilation of specialty channels. These include : CTV Newsnet, Canada’s 24-hour headline news channel ; Report on Business Television, Canada’s all-business news network ; talktv, an all-talk specialty channel ; The Comedy Network, Canada’s first 24-hour network dedicated to comedy ; TSN, the highest-rated Canadian specialty channel ; and RDS, the world’s first 24-hour French-language all-sports channel.

Citytv Toronto based City TV is well known for its avant-garde programming and alternative broadcasting methods.

MIXED MEDIA

Canada.com An excellent source of information. This site provides links to newspapers, television and radio sites from various provinces across Canada. You have the option of searching either by the name of the media company or by city.

Culture.ca Provides an opportunity to explore the diversity of Canadian culture through Art and Expression, History and Heritage, Media and Publishing, People and Diversity, Place and Land, Sports and Leisure and Festivals and Events. This site has great links to other sites including the cbc archives.

Maple Leaf Web Maple Leaf Web is a non-profit, non-partisan Canadian political education
web-site that aims to provide all individuals with a credible source for political education and information. Located at the University of Lethbridge, in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, Maple Leaf Web publishes original articles and features on Canadian political events and institutions and provides important links to a wide range of external resources.

NEWSPAPERS

The Globe and Mail Canada’s national newspaper. The Globe and Mail is considered quite conservative. It is also well known for its coverage of both national and international news, and has an excellent business section.
